The football season has been a bit of a disappointment if you’re a fan of the Giants and Jets but that doesn’t mean you can’t have great food on hand if you have a crowd coming over for a football Sunday.
Nothing will take the sting out of a bad performance by your favorite team more than a plate of delicious appetizers.
Here are a few of my favorites. Each one is easy to make and will keep your guests happy no matter how the game is going!
MEXICAN STREET CORN
One of my absolute favorites because who doesn’t like grilled corn, cheese, scallions, cilantro, jalapeños, and garlic mixed with mayonnaise and topped with chili powder? The recipe can be adapted for large groups or smaller gatherings.
ASPARAGUS TWISTS
Not your usual game-day appetizer but always a crowd pleaser. This can be prepared ahead of time and kept cold until it’s time to serve. Roll prosciutto around arugula and asparagus with drizzles of olive oil and lemon.
BLACK BEAN NACHOS
Every fan loves a plate of nachos and this recipe is a family favorite. Mix black beans, shredded Mexican cheese, scallions, chili powder, and cayenne pepper with mayonnaise and spread over multigrain tortilla chips and watch them disappear.
GRILLED STEAK CROSTINI
A great snack for the carnivores in your group. Top your toasted baguette with grilled strip or flank steak, goat cheese, and my lemon parsley sauce. This appetizer requires more prep time so you’ll want to get it ready before kickoff if you want to watch the game!
Have a great time and let me know how your guests liked each appetizer.
