I love grilling in the summer. Actually, I love grilling any time I can. Here are some of my tried and true tips for a perfect grilling experience.
- Season your food with Salt and Pepper before or during cooking, not after!
- Remember to slice your flank and skirt steaks against the grain.
- If your steak is tough it was sliced the wrong way.
- Do not grill whole boneless breasts, butterfly and pound to even thin thickness.
- Let your steaks rest and upon removing from grill, 10 minutes minimum. They will be so much juicier.
- Do not press down on your burgers and meats.
- Resist the urge to continuously flip your food on the grill, place it down, close it and leave it. It will develop much better color and flavor.
- Do not grill with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, use pure or regular.
- It’s ok to serve food room temperature in the summer, relax and enjoy your guests!
- When using fresh tender herbs, like Parsley, Basil and Cilantro use more.
- When you are looking for more flavor or lift in your food, add salt then citrus.
- Relax it’s only food, there’s always pizza.
